Pointaloud reads text on your screen, so this page says exactly what it looks at, what it keeps, and what ever leaves your Mac.

The short version

What stays on your Mac

Pointaloud keeps these on your Mac only, in its own folder in Application Support and in your Keychain:

Pointaloud never moves, scrolls or changes anything in the app you are reading. When it needs Screen Recording (for apps like Google Docs), it takes one still image at the moment you press the key, reads the words from it on your Mac, and does not keep the image.

What our server keeps

Payments

Stripe handles payment. We never see your card number. Stripe shares your email address and your subscription's status with us so your license key works.

Deleting your information

Removing Pointaloud and its folder in Application Support deletes everything stored on your Mac. To delete what our server keeps, email support@pointaloud.com and we will remove it within 30 days, except what we must keep for tax records.

Children

Pointaloud is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Big changes will also be announced in the app.
